The identity of the other Rumi: A struggle to prove Arab identity, reading the poetry of Abu Firas Al-Hamdani

Abstract

Identity in the light of the conflict with the other anti-Arab Rumi reveals the psychological, racist, nationalist and mechanisms of defending the Arab entity and the unity of the nation, and this is what I noticed with Abu Firas in light of his debates and poetic debates with the enemy of keenness, jihad and redemption in order to survive and not dominate the other, and because the hamdanites were the source of confrontation, we found the bloody conflict between Arabs and Romans He returned in the fourth century AH and the hamdanids confronted them, the strongest Knights and the strongest in preserving and defending their land and their king, and the conflict was not only about the land, but also witnessed a struggle of identities between the Arab and the Rumi, through the attempts of the Romans to erase the Arab identity. The research shows two stages that Abu Firas went through: the stage of participation in wars and war arenas, and the other in captivity in the light of the broadcast of poems in which Sayf al-Dawla warns againstabandoning and surprising them. This reveals the authentic identity of the authentic Arab who, despite all the difficulties, does not abandon his people.
